After selling their dairy herd in 1990, Bob Beauprez and his wife bought controlling interest in then-failing Bank Seven in Lafayette. Since then, the renamed Lafayette State Bank showed the best return on assets camong banks in Colorado and has contributed to more than 23 non-profit organizations in Lafayette and Boulder County.

The Beauprez family has influenced the community outside of banking as well, donating 160 acres to Lafayette for housing and recreational facilities. Bob, in addition to being the president and chairman of both Lafayette State Bank and the Front Range Capitol Corp., has been on the board of directors of several community organizations, including the Sister Carmen Community Center, the Coal Creek Rotary Club and Student Venture. He also has served as chairman of the staffing and search committee of the Independent Bankers of Colorado.
