Born in 1938, Richard Herring came to Boulder in 1960. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University and a doctorate from the University of Colorado. Herring worked at Beech, Ball Aerospace and help found DigitalGlobe Inc., and sat on a number of boards for the community and CU. He also worked with Engineers without Borders as well as 4-H. He and his wife, Barb, live and raise cattle south of Longmont. They have four children and six grandchildren.
