Ed Lehman and his wife, Ruth, both lawyers, came to Longmont in 1957.

Ed became editor and publisher of the Daily Times Call and later formed Lehman Communications Corp., which publishes three Colorado community daily newspapers. Along with the Times Call, the publications include the Loveland Daily Reporter-Herald and the Canon City Daily Record.

In 1997, Lehman purchased the Louisville Times and the Lafayette News. Lehman Communications has been listed for several years among Colorado’s top 200 privately owned companies. The combined operations employ 365 people.

He has received the Community Service Award from the Colorado Press Association. He was a member of the Economic Development Association of Longmont from 1990-1993 and was president of the Longmont Chamber of Commerce in 1962. From 1954-1956, he was a member of the House of Representatives, 40th General Assembly Colorado State Legislature.

Ruth Lehman serves as associate editor, editorial page editor and vice president of Lehman Communications. She is a member of the Boulder County and Colorado Bar Associations as well as the American Society of Newspaper Editors and the Society of Professional Journalists.

She served as legislative chairman of the Colorado Commission on Women and was president of the Colorado Press Association as well as president of the St. Vrain YMCA and a board member for the Boulder County YMCA.
