Gina Day graduated with a BS degree in Medical Technology and continued with an internship to receive her certification with the American Society of Clinical Pathology. She worked at Boulder Community Hospital, Peoples Clinic and with Corning Medical Company during her medical career.
Gina started working in the hospitality business in 1990 when she went into business with her husband and opened The Walnut Brewery. She was involved in the overall operation with attention to menu and beverage list development.
In 1990 she acquired Boulder Beer, Colorado’s first Microbrewery. She became active Managing Partner in March 1991. She was CEO and President from 1991-2002. The company grew rapidly and was #221 in the Top 500 Fastest growing Private Companies in Inc Magazine 1995.
In 1994 she was awarded Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Rocky Mountain Region, Retail/Wholesale/Distribution category and also Esprit Entrepreneur of Distinction from the Boulder Chamber of Commerce
Gina became a member of Young Presidents Organization in 1994 and is currently a member of World Presidents Organization.
In 1995 the United States Small Business Association awarded her Colorado’s Small Business Persons of the Year. In 1996 the company was awarded the Quality Award in Manufacturing from the American Society of Quality Control, Rocky Mountain Chapter. Also, the Boulder Chamber of Commerce gave the company the Small Business Award, Manufacturing Category.
2001-2010 Gina was a beverage consultant to Rock Bottom Restaurants Inc and Boulder Beer.
2014 Acquired Boulder Beer back from Craftworks Restaurants
Currently Gina is a consultant and partner with Concept Restaurants. She currently does beverage consulting for all the properties and is a participant in restaurant /hotel development as well as development of Boulder Beer.
Served on the University of Colorado, College of Music Advisory Board. Served on the Boulder Community Hospital Foundation board.
Served on the United Bank of Boulder Advisory Board.
Served as a board member on the Rockbottom Restaurants Board. Advocate of Peoples Clinic in Boulder. (Indigent care facility in Boulder)
Enjoys competing with her horses in the Hunter/Jumper circuits. Fly fishing, skiing and bicycling.
