Steve Bosley founded the Bolder Boulder in 1979 and developed it into one of the leading 10K races in the country. In 1991, he was named Race Director of the Year by the Road Race Management Association, and throughout the years has been active with the USA Track & Field National Sports Federation and the citizen’s advisory board for the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine.

In the business community, Bosley served as president and chief executive officer of the Bank of Boulder. He stepped down as chief executive officer in December. During his 22-year tenure, Bosley led the bank’s growth from $1.5 million to $229 million in assets. He also engineered a number of innovative promotions, such as giving away (in lieu of interest) high-end items like Rolex watches to customers opening certificate of deposit accounts.

Bosley helped found the Boulder Valley School District Foundation, was a director for the Boulder YMCA and the Boulder Community Hospital Foundation and serves on the boards of the Boulder Economic Council and University of Colorado at Boulder College of Business and Engineering Center for Entrepreneurship.

He was named the 1991 “Citizen of the Year” by the Boy Scouts of America and served as a national delegate to the 1980 Republican National Convention.
