One of only five residents of Caribou, Tom Hendricks has been president of Hendricks Mining Co. since 1974. He used the mining company to reopen and operate the Cross Gold Mine at Caribou, considered one of Colorado’s most modern, fully permitted small mine operations. Hendricks Mining Co.’s property base at Caribou consists of 36 patented claims and 30 unpatented claims.

Tom has been president of the Boulder County Metal Mining Association since 1978 and served as president of the Jones and Donnelly Ditch Co. in Boulder between1982 and 1986. In addition, he is a trustee for the Western Museum of Mining and Industry near Colorado Springs. In 1988, Tom was honored with the Nederland Nugget Award and Duke Heroism Award for a mine rescue.
